DES MOINES, Iowa — One person was injured in a shooting on the city’s southeast side Monday afternoon.
Officers with the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a shooting near the area of Harriett Street and SE 15th Street at around 2:30 p.m. When first responders arrived in the area, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds. The DMPD said the victim has been transported to a local hospital with what’s believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The DMPD says that there’s no ongoing threat to the community. No information about a potential suspect(s) has been released.
