We’re in a Level 1 risk for severe weather tonight, and a few storms could produce gusty winds and hail. The best window for rain chances in central Iowa tonight looks to come between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Another round of rain chances begins late morning on Thursday, and Thursday evening looks like it will bring the best chance of seeing heavier rain. Rainfall looks to end by midday Friday, and some areas could receive over 2″ of rain between now and then.

Our next chance for severe weather comes Monday, and the Storm Prediction Center has highlighted Iowa and surrounding areas for that possibility. We’ve got a decent storm chance during the Sunday evening hours, and a better chance for stronger storms Monday evening.

The Weather Prediction Center also gives parts of the state heavy totals over the next week:

Highs for the next six days and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts are below.
