After a wild weekend of 80s on Friday and snow on Sunday, April will come in bringing strong spring winds and storms by mid-week. Severe potential will be going up by the early morning hours of Wednesday.
Much of Iowa is included in a slight risk area for severe storms tomorrow, which takes us through the early morning hours of Wednesday.

A strong area of low pressure developing over the Plains will bring a warm front through the region on Tuesday. Winds will start to increase from the southeast and some gusts may get up to 40 mph in the afternoon.


A first line of scattered showers will move through Iowa during the afternoon on Tuesday. This will bring less than a tenth of an inch of rain. The stronger storms will move in between midnight and 6 AM on Wednesday.

These storms could produce damaging winds and large hail as they move through. The tornado risk is lower.
We could see an inch of rain with these overnight storms, with some pockets of heavier totals.
