DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Fair announced on Wednesday that country music legend Hank Williams Jr. will be returning to the Grandstand this summer.
Williams has a long history of performing at the fair, playing shows in 1989, 1991, 1996, and 2012. He’s known for his songs “Family Tradition,” “A Country Boy Can Survive,” and “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight.”
Williams will take the stage on Friday, August 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased on the fair’s website.
The fair has now released eight of the 11 Grandstand acts. Below is a list of all the performances:

- Friday, August 8: Parker McCollum with special guest Josh Abbott Band
- Saturday, August 9: Megan Moroney with special guest Kameron Marlowe
