IOWA — Basketball superstar Caitlin Clark continues her philanthropic work by providing large grants to four Iowa charities.
The Caitlin Clark Foundation announced the grant recipients Wednesday morning and said they were all organizations that inspired Clark while she attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Coralville Community Food Pantry, Boys and Girls Club of the Corridor, and Special Olympics Iowa — East Central will each receive $22,000.
“One of my favorite things about Iowa City is the way the community is connected and how everyone supports each other. It is something I felt during my time here and is important to me that I stay connected with. I am proud to be a part of each of these organizations’ efforts and the meaningful impact they provide for the people of Iowa,” said Clark in a statement released by her foundation.
Clark will have her #22 jersey retired at a ceremony at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on February 2nd at the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball game versus USC.
Clark was the #1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and plays for the Indiana Fever.
