IOWA — For the 13th year in a row, A Heinz 57 Pet Rescue is sending representatives to the biggest game of the year – The Puppy Bowl.

Animal Planet launched the promotion 20 years, using the Super Bowl-hype to draw attention to dogs in need. The “game” is just a giant playdate for adoptable dogs held inside a replica stadium. The contestants are chosen from shelters across the country.

A Heinz 57 expects to have five to seven dogs compete this year. The dogs are all being fostered. Those that are chosen – and their owners – earn a trip to New York to tape the show that will air on Super Bowl Sunday at 1:00pm central time.
