ALTOONA, Iowa — Thrill seekers will get to experience something new at Adventureland this summer.

The theme park announced on Wednesday that a new waterslide experience has taken over the old Typhoon waterslide. According to Adventureland, the new waterslide is a full sensory experience that includes laser lights and sounds.

“Our team is already hard at work preparing the park for what’s sure to be one of our biggest years yet here at Adventureland,” General Manager Mike Lusky said in a statement. “From beloved rides and attractions to a full season of unique events, our 2025 season will offer entertainment that everyone in the family can enjoy.”

Special events at the theme park will also return this year, including Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 13 and the Phantom Fall Fest beginning on Saturday, September 20.

Adventureland opens the gates for its 51st season on Saturday, May 17. Adventure Bay will open a week later on Saturday, May 24.
