WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Police have released the names of the people involved in a fatal crash on I-35 Monday morning in West Des Moines.

A news release from the West Des Moines Police Department says 45-year-old Jamie Alertsen of Pleasantville died in the crash.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened around 6:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-35 at Mills Civic Parkway.

Sgt. Dan Wade of the WDMPD said 19-year-old Natalie Alertsen, also of Pleasantville, was the driver of one of the vehicles. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision.

The driver of the other vehicle, 27-year-old Junior Sabillon-Ramos of Des Moines, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the West Des Moines Police Department.
