WAUKEE, Iowa — Police in Waukee are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened late Sunday night.

A news release from the Waukee Police Department said members of the WPD, Waukee Fire Department, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3300 block of Ute Avenue around 10:39 p.m. on a single-vehicle crash. The male driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Police said excessive speed was a factor in the crash.

No other details were immediately released.

The Waukee Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
