WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — One person is dead and two people are injured in a Monday morning crash on I-35 in West Des Moines.

Sgt. Dan Wade of the West Des Moines Police Department said the crash happened around 6:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-35 at Mills Civic Parkway. The initial report is there were two vehicles involved in the collision.

The conditions of the two people who were injured are not known at this time.

The inside lane of traffic on northbound I-35 is blocked off as investigators examine the scene and work to clear it.
