DES MOINES, Iowa — Four Des Moines men were arrested in Marshalltown early Friday morning following an investigation into a burglary at the site of the old hospital.
A news release posted to the Marshalltown Police Department’s Facebook page said officers were called to the 10 block of South 4th Avenue around 4:53 a.m. Friday after receiving a report of trespassing. The location is the site of the former hospital.
Officers determined a burglary and theft had occurred at the site. Police located and stopped a vehicle occupied by four adult males in the area of East Madison Street and South Center Street. They found property inside the vehicle that was determined to have been stolen from the old hospital site.
The MPD said the men were stealing copper pipe from the old hospital building.
All four men were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of burglar tools. They are being held in the Marshall County Jail.

- Mo Say, 38
- Moo Soe, 28
- Aung Yo Trae, 31

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Marshalltown Police Department with the investigation.
