Early morning fire damages Saylor Township storage facility

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — Multiple fire departments were called to a storage facility in Saylor Township in north Des Moines to put out a fire early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:00 a.m., firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Northeast 14th Street.

Fourteen storage units were badly damaged from the flames and smoke, according to a firefighter on scene. No one was injured in this incident.

Fire departments from Saylor Township, Delaware Township, Ankeny, Altoona, Pleasant Hill, and Johnston-Grimes responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
