AMES, Iowa (KCAU) — An Ames company announced Wednesday that it will be acquiring a Sioux City-based construction firm.
Story Construction sent out a release on Wednesday announcing that it has come to a purchase agreement to acquire L & L Builders Co’s assets.
In the release, Story Construction said that it would be doing business in Sioux City using L & L’s name.
L & L was founded in Sioux City back in 1960 by two brothers, Larry and Lonny Book. It has worked on many projects in the Sioux City area over the years ranging from medical, government, restaurants, and historic restoration.
“I’m so proud of what this firm has accomplished throughout its history and the 10 years I’ve been with the company,” L & L Builders Co-president Joel Jarman said. “We’re excited to see our people continue to thrive and grow in this next chapter under the leadership and support of Story Construction.”
Story Construction said that L & L’s longstanding reputation aligns with their vision.
“L & L’s longstanding reputation and commitment to its partners and clients aligns perfectly with our vision for growth, Story Construction president Mike Espeset said. “We look forward to continue delivering for those in the Siouxland region and expand the reach of Story Construction.
Story Construction concluded the release by saying it has also come to employment agreements and plans to retain the workforce currently employed by L & L.
