PELLA, Iowa — The Pella Police Department says an investigation is underway after an assault at Pella Middle School Wednesday morning and one juvenile student is in custody following the incident.

The Pella Police Department posted about the incident on the department’s Facebook page. The assault happened in the school’s cafeteria before the start of classes on Wednesday. Police say all the students involved are safe and all of the parents of the involved students have been contacted.

There is no ongoing threat. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
