DES MOINES, Iowa — November is starting off wet in Iowa. In the last seven days, most of the state reported more than an inch of needed rain. The highest rainfall totals of around five inches or more fell in between Poweshiek and Tama counties.

The drought monitor is released each Thursday. Today the driest conditions in the state are showing up in northwest Iowa. The drought conditions south and east of Des Moines are now wet enough to get released from the drought.

Drought Conditions
More rain is on the way by Saturday. The heaviest rain will fall after 2 AM and before 2 PM on Saturday. This system should produce around a quarter of an inch of needed rain in parts of Iowa by Saturday afternoon.

Sunday does look mainly dry. Next week will be getting warmer.
