LAMONI, Iowa – About five miles from the Missouri border and just off of I-35, you’ll find what Amish Country Store owner Jeremy Sellars describes as an “oasis.”
The Amish Country Store is more than just a stop off the highway. It’s home to a large restaurant, dog park, Tesla charging station, and more.
The store itself has local crafts and goods made by Iowans, including things like candles, furniture, hats, and log drawers made by Amish community members. There are also plenty of canned goods like jams and Amish candy.
Sellars says most of the store’s customers are visitors, even noting that a good amount of store traffic comes from Minnesota and Texas thanks to the location being right off of I-35.
Whether you’re looking for a unique gift, a place to stop off of I-35, or an opportunity to find some Amish food and merchandise, the Amish Country Store is worth checking out.
You may just see a Tesla parked next to an Amish horse and buggy.
