DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee said on Tuesday that it’s removed some self-checkout kiosks from stores.
Hy-Vee said it removed the self-checkouts as a way to bring back face-to-face interactions between customers and employees and to provide a better customer experience. Hy-Vee did not specify which locations have removed the self-checkouts.
Several major retailers have also either removed or made changes to self-checkout kiosks. Walmart removed some self-checkouts from multiple locations and Target limited the number of items people could buy at self-checkouts to ten items or less.
