The charges are connected to a high-speed crash that happened on the morning of August 28th in the 7000 block of Bloomfield Road. Criminal complaints filed in the case say Shumpert was driving recklessly and speeding well above 65 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone when she collided with another vehicle. Shumpert and five other occupants, between the two cars, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Court documents say a blood test found no alcohol in Shumpert’s system, but she did test positive for methadone.

Shumpert was booked into the Polk County Jail on Wednesday. She’s being held on a bond of $42,000.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for November 4th.
