According to the coalition’s website, leaders made the decision to dissolve the organization. However, the website does not list a reason for why the coalition decided to dissolve.

In 2005 the DMMC was created to strengthen and diversify central Iowa’s music scene. Over almost two decades the DMMC has hosted multiple music events, including the 80/35 Music Festival. With the dissolution of the organization, the DMMC said the 80/35 Music Festival would no longer be operated by the coalition and the future of the festival is unknown.

The coalition said it’d be working with partners, vendors, and supporters to end operations over the coming weeks.
