SAYLOR TOWNSHIP, Iowa — One person is dead following a shooting that occurred at Union Labor Park Saturday night.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, shots were fired just before 7:30 p.m. at the 4600 block of Northwest Morningstar Drive in the Saylor Township. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and an Ankeny ambulance were called to the scene.

One person has been confirmed dead.

According to deputies there are no current suspects.

Deputies say the park had been rented out for a mental health awareness event.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Detectives have been called to the scene and are collecting testimonies from witnesses.
