MAHASKA COUNTY, Iowa — Two people are dead and another two were injured after their vehicle crashed into a tractor Friday afternoon.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, around 8:47 p.m. a Subaru Outback was traveling eastbound on Highway 163 while a John Deere tractor pulling a tiller was also traveling eastbound on the right shoulder.
The tractor began to merge left into the lane and the Subaru collided into the back of the tiller, crushing the front of the vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were killed, the other two occupants were injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
