Waukee Target set to open in October

WAUKEE, Iowa — The long awaited Target store in Waukee is set to open this month.

Construction on the metro’s newest Target began last spring as part of the first stages of the Waukee Towne Center development. Target officials announced on Monday that construction is complete and the store will open its doors to the public on Sunday, October 13.


Drake University confirms report of attempted abduction of student on campus

The new Target located at 900 SE Laurel Street is designated as an anchor store for the Waukee Towne Center. Developers say the area will include retail stores, food and drink establishments, entertainment, an amphitheater, lake, bike path, and more.

Plans have been approved for the construction of a Chase Bank, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, and Olive Garden in the Waukee Towne Center.
