20th Annual Des Moines Oktoberfest festivities begin Friday

DES MOINES, Iowa — The 20th annual Des Moines Oktoberfest starts Friday at the Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park.

The celebration of German heritage and culture starts at 3:00 p.m. with the tapping of the golden keg. The event runs until midnight on Friday and from noon to midnight on Saturday.


Polk County launches sexual harassment training to enhance safety at nightlife venues

Parking is free and tickets are $20 before the start of Oktoberfest on Friday and $30 at the entrance.

To celebrate 20 years of the event, there are a limited number of Des Moines Oktoberfest Steins available for purchase.
