DES MOINES, Iowa – Multiple dogs died after a home caught fire south of the east mixmaster Wednesday afternoon in Des Moines.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from a home in the 3900 block of East 25th Street.
The Des Moines Fire Department says it appears to be an accidental kitchen fire and the owner came home around 1:30 p.m. to find the flames. The owner tried to get six dogs out of the house, but he couldn’t, and the dogs passed away.
One adult suffered mild smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
