DES MOINES, Iowa — A fire broke out at a duplex in the River Bend neighborhood early Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 4:40 a.m. the Des Moines Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1400 block of 7th Street. When firefighters arrived they found fire in the attic of the boarded up duplex.
According to the DMFD, firefighters were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes. The fire was contained to the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
