Forecast: Work week warming

Another day, more warming across central Iowa, as we’re sitting about 20 degrees above where we were this time Saturday. I’ve seen bicycles and motorcycles out and about, and we’ve got more mild weather ahead!

Lows Sunday night look to mainly stay above freezing but may dip to or below 32 in low lying areas. Best to watch for refreeze in the morning as you head to work or school.

We have two rain chances this week, and neither are great. We may see some isolated showers late Monday afternoon and evening, and more during the early morning hours on Wednesday. As shown below, total rainfall amounts from these two systems will be very light.

We look to stay warmer and wetter than average through March 4th, then turn cooler as shown in the extended outlooks below:

We’re not done with snowfall for the season, and the 50 members of the European ensemble computer model seem to hint at show chances from March 5th to the 9th:
