DES MOINES, Iowa — Bud and Mary’s provided a tour of their facilities as state legislature debates cannabis bill.

The bill would allow qualified patients access to a broader array of cannabis products and botanical cannabis flowers. Bud and Mary’s is hoping the bill passes because, they say, it could help lower prices for Americans.

“We hear consistently that cost is the number one issue facing our patients today. We’ve got about 18,000 people that are registered in the program,” said Lucas Nelson, MedPharm Iowa Group President.

Despite large enrollment, Bud and Mary’s says people are not able to afford the cost and therefore don’t utilize the program.

“However, on a month-to-month basis, we’re only seeing about a third of those,” said Nelson. “Consistently, day in and day out, whether it’s email, it’s interactions in person, it’s people we hear that maybe were in the program at one point in left cost costs cost.”

According to Bud and Mary’s, the vaporized flower would lower costs because the same plant is used in other products, and it would reduce the manufacturing steps.
