DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa — The Dallas County Sheriff’s office is investigating numerous vehicle burglaries that occurred over the past two weekends.
According to a Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, over the past two weekends several burglaries were reported from metro and rural areas in Dallas County.
Authorities says the crimes are believed to be committed by out-of-state individuals and occur overnight and during early morning hours.
The suspects target unlocked vehicles and steal electronics, hand and power tools, cash, and credit cards, according to authorities.
To prevent further crimes, law enforcement encourages residents to,
- Lock vehicles and residences at all times
- Remove valuables from vehicles when possible
- Report suspicious out-of-state vehicles or activity to law enforcement
The DCSO say law enforcement has “increased patrols in residential areas to deter further incidents and identify suspects”.
The DCSO encourages anyone who know anything or see’s suspicious behavior to report incidents to their local law enforcement agency.
