LINDEN, Iowa — A house in rural Dallas County is a total loss after a fire broke out Tuesday afternoon.
At around 12 p.m. the Redfield Fire Department responded to a report of a home on fire in the 300 block of South Main Street. When firefighters arrived on scene they found the home fully engulfed in flames.
According to Wesley Bosier, the assistant fire chief for the Redfield Fire Department, sparks from the house were flying into nearby fields. There were also multiple one pound propane tanks inside the home that went off.
The Redfield Fire Department requested assistance from the Panora and Dexter fire departments to bring in water and help battle the fire.
Everyone inside the home were able to safely escape and no injuries were reported, Bosier said. The home is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
