DES MOINES, Iowa — The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 PM. A light wintry mix is moving through and freezing on contact. This may cause a light glazing of ice in spots. The untreated areas will be slippery this afternoon and tonight.

The majority of the impacts will be felt late afternoon and evening and could slow down the evening commute.

We’ll have some sun and 40 degrees on Thursday, returning to the 30s on Friday. Another system moves in on Saturday which could bring a better chance of snow to Iowa.

There will be more of a wintry mix on Saturday.
