AMES, Iowa — A 19-year-old has been charged in connection to the shooting death of a Boone man.

On the evening of January 18 the Ames Police Department responded to an apartment in the 200 block of South 5th Street in Boone. When first responders arrived on scene they found 25-year-old Parker Stoneburger suffering from a gunshot wound. Parker was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Nearly a week after the shooting the police department announced that an arrest has been made. On Friday Destiny Skurdal, 19, was charged with First-Degree Robbery.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
