IOWA CITY – After losing two straight games on the road, the Hawkeyes returned home Tuesday night but once again came out on the wrong end. Minnesota beat Iowa 72-67. The 67 points is a season-low for the Hawkeyes.

Payton Sandfort and Owen Freeman led Iowa with 21 points each, but the Hawks dug themselves too big of a hole in the 2nd half, trailing at one point by 17.

The Gophers came into the game as the worst team in the Big Ten at 1-6 in conference play.

The Hawkeyes fall to 12-7 overall, 3-5 in the B1G. Iowa is back home Friday night against Penn State.
