ST. CHARLES, Iowa — Hinterland Music Festival has announced the lineup for its 2025 event along with some changes designed to keep festivalgoers cool and give them the chance to opt out if temperatures rise too high.

The 10th edition of the festival runs August 1-3 in St. Charles and features headliners Tyler, the Creator as well as Kacey Musgraves, and Lana Del Rey.

Last summer’s Hinterland festival was impacted by extreme temperatures in the 90°s and a shortage of shade and water, leading to music fans passing out. Festival organizers tried to improve the situation by providing more free water and shade for the final day of the festival when Noah Kahan and Chappel Roan were scheduled to perform. Fans also complained the venue had been oversold and there were too many people for the space.

Hinterland organizers have taken the criticism seriously and are offering some tweaks to this summer’s festival. There’s a “90 Degree Guarantee” that allows those who have purchased tickets directly from AXS.com to get a refund if the forecast for any day of the festival has a true temperature of 90° or higher for the 50240 zip code. That’s as of the forecast by weather.gov on Tuesday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m. CT.

The main stage has been relocated and organizers say there’s an expanded footprint with more space to spread out. Access to water has also been increased and there will also be misting fans to help attendees cool off.

The camping and parking areas have been moved and there will be more food vendors for festivalgoers to choose from.

Presale tickets go on sale Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. and tickets for the general public will be available for purchase on Friday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m.
