Forecast: Two more cold days, then a snow chance

We’ve gotten even colder, as promised, Sunday as frigid air continues to pour into the state. Your weather timeline takes you into a very cold Tuesday:

Another night, another cold weather advisory, as wind chills will again bottom out near -15 to -20 in parts of Iowa. Lows will mainly be in the single digits below zero.

Tuesday morning looks to be the coldest of this streak, with wind chills below -30 possible in northern Iowa. Bundle up as you head out the next couple days.

A warm front pushes into Iowa Wednesday, and may bring light snow along with it late in the day. As of Sunday, amounts look to stay below an inch. We may also see a few flurries across Iowa on Thursday.

Temperatures improve after a very cold start to the week, back to highs closer to average for this time of year Wednesday through Sunday, as shown in the following gallery:

As for snow, long-range computer models continue to show chances between the 30th of January and the 2nd of February.

The extended outlook below hints that we may see milder temperatures extend beyond the weekend.
