DES MOINES, Iowa — A scavenger hunt is now going on in Des Moines.
The Treesure Hunt contest encourages participants to go inside the downtown skywalk, through local parks, and around Des Moines neighborhoods. They’ll seek out the “Treesures” four forestry-themed art installations and four sets of actual trees in parks across all of the city’s four wards, take pictures, and submit them.
City Forester Shane McQuillan said, “The Treesure Hunt gets folks up in the skywalk to support local, keeps them active and raises awareness around our urban forestry efforts.”
Participants will be entered to win a free tree planting anywhere in Des Moines. If they live within Des Moines city limits, they can even have the tree planted on their own property.
