DES MOINES, Iowa — Two people are in custody after an overnight police pursuit downtown, according to Des Moines Police.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. starting with a dispute Court Avenue from where allegedly one person involved flashed a gun.

Both people involved got into a vehicle, the vehicle refused to stop when officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. This led to a short chase which ended on Indianola and 5th Avenue. Two guns were recovered and both people are in custody this morning according to authorities.
