Low flying helicopters will return to downtown Des Moines this weekend

DES MOINES, Iowa – Low flying helicopters will return to downtown Des Moines this weekend.

The helicopters will be used to lift and replace heavy mechanical equipment on the roof of the Ruan Center located at 666 Grand Avenue. The work was initially scheduled for Saturday, but due to weather concerns it was delayed until Sunday morning.

Portions of Sixth and Grand Avenues near Des Moines’ second-tallest building may be shut down briefly while the work takes place, similar to what locals experienced in November during a similar event.
