STUART, Iowa — A Stuart home is considered a total loss after a fire broke out early Thursday morning.
At around 5:46 a.m. the Stuart Fire Department and EMS responded to a report of a house fire. According to Raccoon Valley Radio, the fire broke out at a mobile home located along North Gaines Street.
The Stuart Fire Department said in a press release posted to Facebook that when firefighters arrived on scene they found flames coming from the home. As a result the Menlo Fire Department and Dexter Fire Department were called in to assist and the fire was knocked down within minutes.
One occupant was at the home when the fire started and was able to safely escape. No injuries were reported.
According to the fire department, the fire is believed to have started from a wood burning stove and the home is considered a total loss.
Other agencies assisting the Stuart, Menlo, and Dexter fire departments at the scene included the Redfield Fire Department, Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, Stuart Police Department, and Adair & Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency.
