Forecast: Rain ends, more fog, and snowflakes?

Temperatures have warmed over Thursday’s highs Friday as rain has moved in. Your weather timeline takes you into a mild weekend.

Expect fog to spread again Friday night and the rainfall to end sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight depending on where you are in the viewing area. Mild temperatures stick around for the weekend, and we may see a little sunshine Saturday.

Fog will likely again be an issue Sunday morning as moisture near the surface hangs around. A couple of the computer models we consult also produce a few scattered light showers Sunday morning as a small system traverses the state.

Clouds increase again Monday, and we’ll see rain late in the day. That rain will change to snow overnight into Tuesday morning, as seen below. Some areas of the state may see a white New Year, though heavy accumulations are not expected.
