KOSSUTH COUNTY, Iowa — One person is dead and another is injured after a semi crash in Kossuth County Monday evening.

At around 7:09 p.m. first responders were called to a semi crash in the 1700 block of 210th Street, just east of Algona. Andres Garcia Exposito, 51, was driving an SUV westbound on 210th Street when he crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into an oncoming semi, an Iowa State Patrol crash report states.

According to the crash report, Exposito died from his injuries at the scene. The driver of the semi was injured and transported to a local hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
