Osceola woman injured in shooting has died

OSCEOLA, Iowa — An Osceola woman who was injured in a shooting last week has died.

On Tuesday at around 6:15 a.m. the Osceola Police Department responded to a 911 call requesting help to a home in the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive. According to police, when first responders arrived at the home they found an adult male and adult female suffering from gunshot wounds inside.

The adult male victim was transported via air ambulance to a Des Moines hospital, but later died from his injuries. Police announced that on Friday night the adult female succumbed to her injuries. The victims have been identified as married couple Dr. James and Mary Ellen Kimball.

According to police, the shooting appeared to be a murder-suicide. No additional information has been released.
