Forecast: Parts of Iowa could see snow, mixed precipitation Tuesday night

DES MOINES, Iowa — We burned off our morning fog and any remaining ice on roads and sidewalks today as the sun returned and temperatures warmed nicely on a breezy Monday. Your weather timeline takes you through changes in the forecast.

It will be clear and chilly tonight before clouds move in on a cooler but mild Tuesday.

A cold front will drop through late on Tuesday, setting us up for a chance of light snow and mixed precipitation Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning. This may be enough to create some slippery conditions in northern Iowa and, perhaps, in the central part of the state. The far north may see as much as an inch of snowfall.

Another cold front could bring a light mix to the northern part of the state on Thursday. Thursday will also be breezy, as shown in the second image below.
