4 people injured in shooting on Ingersoll Avenue

DES MOINES, Iowa — Four people were injured in a shooting on Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines Friday evening.

At around 7 p.m. the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a shooting with a victim near the intersection of 28th Street and Ingersoll Avenue. According to a DMPD post on X, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg at the scene.

Shortly after the shooting two people showed up at a nearby hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds that appeared to be connected to the shooting on Ingersoll. Police said the injured persons were an adult male and adult female.

A fourth person, who police say was not involved in the circumstances that led to the shooting, was hit by debris and suffered a minor injury.

Police said the shooting doesn’t appear to be connected to nearby businesses. There is no indication of any ongoing danger to the public. No more information has been released.
