Heart of Gold toy drive delivering to 495 families

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The seventh annual Heart of Gold Toy Drive is making their rounds delivering to 495 families in Iowa.

After the 2018 tornado in Marshalltown, Blaine Fisher organized the Heart of Gold Toy Drive to help collect toys for Marshalltown children. He continues this tradition every year, partnering with the Salvation Army in Marshalltown to help bring hundreds of children toys for the holidays.

This year, Fisher is expanded the toy drive to help people in Minden, which was hit hard in April when an EF-3 tornado ripped through the community.

The Fisher family is now collecting the donations and bringing them to families in need.

The photos show Blaine making the journey to drop-off locations around Marshalltown collecting donations.

The family was in Minden on Saturday and still has four stops to make on their Santa-like journey. Between Minden and Marshalltown, they will deliver to 495 families.
