We began the day in the freezer again, but warmed up quickly around central Iowa with the help of some sunshine and southwest winds. Temperatures are roughly 20 degrees warmer than Thursday’s.

Tonight’s lows will be roughly 10 degrees warmer than last night’s, taking us into a milder weekend overall.

Looking at travel weather, Cyclone fans may have some showers to dodge around Dallas going to and leaving the Big 12 Championship game.


Heading back home, it may be a bit breezy at times on Saturday, again helping temperatures to warm up.

Our forecast for the upcoming week looks dry, with only slight chances for light snow and flurries next Wednesday and Thursday. Farther out, it does appear we may see rain the following Saturday. As seen below, we stay mostly dry prior.

Highs stay mild through Monday, then fall off again with the passage of a cold front or two into midweek.






The 6-to-10 and, especially, the 8-to-14-day outlooks keep us in above-average temperature territory through at least December 19th.
