AMES, Iowa — An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting on Wednesday that sent one person to the hospital.
At around 2:53 p.m. the Ames Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4700 block of Mortensen Road. When first responders arrived on scene they found a woman in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound in her upper body. The victim was transported to a Des Moines hospital for treatment. According to police, her condition is not known at this time.
Shortly after the shooting officers located the suspected shooter in the 4500 block of Mortensen Road. Lyndon N. Dembry, 33, of Chicago, Illinois was taken into custody and has been charged with the following:
- Attempted Murder
- Dominion and Control of a Firearm by a Felon
- Domestic Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon
