Building and maintaining public trust includes being transparent during disappointing circumstances. Understanding that a person arrested has a presumption of innocence until proven guilty, we respect the criminal justice process as it moves forward. We will conduct a thorough internal investigation of the facts and circumstances of this incident, and take action as appropriate. A strong relationship with the community we serve requires accountability and it is our priority to fulfill that responsibility.
