DES MOINES, Iowa — A wanted felon accused of leading Des Moines Police officers on a chase in early November has been arrested.
According to DMPD, 47-year-old William Douglas Wambsgans led officers on a lengthy chase on the night of November 6, but managed to escape officers. On Friday DMPD announced that Wambsgans was taken into custody in the 900 block of Amos Avenue by Probation & Parole officers.
Wambsgans was wanted on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree harassment, and a parole violation. DMPD said charges related to the pursuit are pending. He is currently being held in the Polk County Jail.
