DES MOINES, Iowa — A butcher shop is drawing people to the Sherman Hill neighborhood after opening its doors in October.

The Good Butcher is a retail butcher shop focused on curing small and local Iowa-farmed meats. Owner Calvin Schnucker, Master Chef Grant Gillon, and Executive Chef Terry Boston work together to ensure top-tier quality products.

“So, what I’ve been lucky enough to do here is to find people who are also passionate about Iowa, about Iowa food. And that’s what we do first here is have delicious food,” said Calvin Schnucker.

The shop is located at 555 17th Street, Suite 103, in Des Moines and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. For more information check out The Good Butcher’s website.
