DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — More than 90 employees at a Jack Link’s distribution center located in Laurens will be without a job in the coming months.
According to the Iowa WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) webpage, Jack Links gave notice to the state on Nov. 7 that 91 employees would lose their jobs as part of a mass layoff.
The last day for the employees would be Jan. 24, 2025.
The Laurens location is one of two distribution centers in Iowa for Jack Link’s. The other is located in Underwood.
Jack Link’s is an international company headquartered out of Minong, Wisconsin. It makes meat snacks like jerky or meat sticks.
Jack Link’s in Laurens has laid off employees before. In Aug. 19, 2022, the company announced they were laying off 57 employees with a final date of Sept. 18. Then, on Sept. 7, 2023, 46 employees were laid off. Each event was marked as a mass layoff.
